MALAWI TOURISM AMBASSADOR TAY GRIN THE NYAU KING TO BE HONOURED IN LONDON AT DIASPORA ECONOMIC FORUM (DEF)

Malawi's celebrated hiphop star Tay Grin has been nominated to receive a prestigious award at the high profile ceremony Africa Day Awards International which is also part of Diaspora Economic Forum(DEF) to be held in London on the 25th May.

The star is set to be awarded Excellence In Tourism And Culture Promotion Award. He is the first person to ever receive this special award. Notably, he will be honoured alongside His Excellency The President of Sierra Leone Dr. Julius Maada Bio who will receive Excellence In Leadership Award.

Popularly known as The Nyau King, the fashionable celebrity is known for travelling globally to promote Malawi's culture and it's people.

Tay Grin was recently appointed a diplomat and the official Malawi Tourism and culture ambassador by Malawi government arm of tourism, Malawi Tourism board.

In a recent interview, he revealed, “I'm thrilled to have been nominated to receive this honorary award in London. I'm passionate about getting the rest of the world to explore Malawi. With my new post as the country's tourism ambassador, I intend to unlock more for Malawi in order to attract investors.”

Professor Pauline Long, who is the Chairperson of Africa Day Awards praised Tay Grin for the great work he is doing tirelessly putting Malawi on the map whenever an opportunity rises.
